Service Pack 2 requires M7-SYS RT V5.0 (6ES7802-0FA15-0XX0).
Service Pack 2 for M7-SYS RT V5.0 includes the following new extensions:
The maximum number of semaphores has been increased from 1023 to 2047,
A new BIOS and the M7 RMOS32 support use of hard disks up to a maximum of 8 GB.
The function extensions of Service Pack 1 that concern the behavior of interface module IF 964 DP are also installed with Service Pack 2:
Equidistant bus cycles with PROFIBUS DP,
Direct data transfer (lateral communication) between PROFIBUS DP slaves,
Support of 125 DP slaves (previously only a maximum of 96 DP slaves),
Support of DP slaves with up to 244 bytes of input data (previously a maximum of 122 bytes).

The precondition for M7-SYS RT K05.00.28 is an installed version of M7-SYS RT V5.0.
Compared to M7-SYS RT V5.0, the correction version M7-SYS RT K05.00.28 has the following additions:

The BIOS setup now permits the use of hard disks up to 8 GB.
M7 RMOS32 supports the use of 8-GB hard disks.
M7-SYS RT K05.00.28 includes the Service Pack M7-SYS RT V5.0 SP2 with the support of the new interface submodule IF 964 DP (order no.: 6ES7964-2AA01-0AB0 ). |
Compared to M7-SYS RT V5.0, the correction version M7-SYS RT K05.00.28 clears the following errors:
In isolated cases, configurations with a FM 456-2 booted from the memory card, could cause the deletion of the BIOS driver, if the IF 964-DP module (6ES7964-2AA01-0AB0) was used. The module would not start up in this case and a BIOS update via floppy disk had to be carried out. Installation of the BIOS version A2.14 from the Hotfix to the FM 456-2 will eliminate this error.
Saving of retentive bit memories has been corrected.
The HDPART program could not delete partitions of hard disks.
Diagnostic messages with a length of 6 bytes (without extended diagnostic data) of DP slaves were not identified by the DP master.
Data records for the FM 456-2 always had to written in their complete length by the CPU, because they could otherwise only be written with limitations. Now these data records can be written in variable lengths up to the max. permitted length.
An error with the data record functions of the FM 456-2 occurring in the case of a high data record communication load has been cleared.
Improved evaluation of the key switch during STARTUP mode.
The error information of SZL-ID 0692 and SZL-ID 0F92 has been improved.
Operation of the LPT1 interface on a MSM 478 has been made possible.
The loadable driver 3964.DRV has been corrected.
An error upon acknowledgement of diagnostic alarms of a DP-S7 slave has been cleared.
An error upon sending via TCP sockets, leading to a connection abortion after a large no. of data packages, has been cleared.
