Linear flying saw application with DCB extension
Typically, a flying saw comprises a sledge equipped with a knife or saw, which cuts a material web, generally in identically large sections (formats).
The linear flying saw synchronizes position controlled from a starting position to the material, moves with synchronous velocity and moves back to the starting position after cutting. From the start position the next synchronization can be started. The saw is synchronized with the material using the position sensing function of an upstream feed drive or using a measuring wheel.

The flying saw application includes the following functions:
• Real leading axis /measuring wheel
• Virtual leading axis/test operation
• Measuring wheel correction
• Traversing to maintenance position
• Mode for unspecific compus lengths
• Software limit switches
• Hardware limit switches
• Different cutting types are available (e.g. continuous cutting, test cut, single cut)
• Jogging
• Flying homing for following axis and real leading axis
• Homing for following axis and real leading axis
• Print mark correction on the leading axis side
• Create gap
• Clamping function
• Material counter
• Positioning for the real leading axis as well as autonomously, for the following axis
• Dead time compensation
• Following error monitoring
• Speed/torque precontrol

Cross-cutter application with DCB extension
Typically, a cross-cutter comprises a rotating roll equipped with a knife, which cuts a material web transverse to the direction of motion, generally in identically large sections (formats).
In order to allow various cut lengths (formats), the knife drive must have a motion profile, which during the cut moves the knife in synchronism with the belt – and outside the cutting range specifies suitable deceleration or acceleration rates before the velocity is synchronized again with the belt for the next cut. The saw is synchronized with the material using the position sensing function of an upstream feed drive or using a measuring wheel.
The cross-cutter application includes the following functions:
• Real leading axis /measuring wheel
• Virtual leading axis/test operation
• Measuring wheel correction
• Traversing to maintenance position
• Single cut
• Test cut
• Continuous cutting
• Cutting curve
• Jogging
• Flying homing for following axis and real leading axis
• Homing for following axis and real leading axis
• Print mark correction on the leading axis side
• Multi-knife systems
• Positioning for the real leading axis as well as autonomously, for the following axis
• Dead time compensation
• Following error monitoring
• Speed/torque precontrol

SINAMICS S120 DCB library “GMC” and “Math Extended”
he GMC library offers blocks to realize motion control applications drive based in the SINAMICS S120 drive. With the function block library "GMC" for motion control these elementary functions are available as single function blocks and sometimes as combination of several functions. The blocks can be combined at own discretion and realize both simple and complex drive functions.
DCB library "Math Extended" supplementary mathematical and logical functions
Used in applications where mathematical functions such as trigonometrical, logarithmic or additional logic functions are required.
The Math Extended library offers blocks to carry out trigonometrical calculations like arc sine or arc cosine or also logarithm calculations like a common or normal logarithm. Furthermore it provides supplementary logic functions like the word-by-word AND or OR functions.
