The Position:

Reporting to the Software Manager the role of the Lead Software Engineer is to plan, execute, and finalise project software for high value custome automated production machinery according to strict deadlines and
performance criteria. This includes software design, set-up, debug and commissioning both in house and at the customer site.

Responsibilities:

* Direct and manage the software stil phase from beginning to end.
* Define project scope and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
* Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
* Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
* Deliver progress reports and generate validation documents to support compliance with GAMP - Software design specifications, Test specifications.
* EsteticÄƒ & configure PLC, HMI and industrial PC software code in line with project functional design specifications and company design principles.
* Work closely with 3rd party suppliers to successfully assess and integrate standalone systems such as vision systems, robots, printing, lasers,
servo drives and safety systems.
* Work as part of a multi disciplined program team to set-up, debug and commission machinery both on site and customer sites UK and overseas.
* Set, communicate and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
* Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their
assigned work.
* Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
* Continually monitor output to ensure quality of design within the project team.
* Support commissioning activities through the set-up and debug phases both at the client and customer sites.

Desired Skills & Experience:-

* University degree or college diploma (HND,HNC) in a relevant discipline
* A proven understanding of engineering and automation principles
* Proven track record in PLC based control system development
* Strong familiarity with software such as Microsoft office tools, Rockwell and Siemens programming tools
* Experience of working both independantly and in a team-orientated, collaborative environment is essential
* Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Reacts to project adjustments and alterationspromptly and efficiently
* Flexible during times of change
* Ability to bring project to successful completion
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
