I am new to ladder logic. I don't understand that branch or Under Line (Marked). What is that for is that another switch (input) ? then why ?

please recommend me or give me download link of Good Ladder logic tutorial! or ebook !

this is a holding bit ,when you release the start push button it will keep circuit powered .
