How can you configure a trend display with a different size for a faceplate type?
hese instructions are for changing the size of the trend view for the "CTRL_PID" faceplate blocks.
The size of the trend display for other faceplate types will not be changed.
Steps:
1 Open the picture "@pg_ctrl_pid_viewlist.pdl".
Change the name of the object "@PCS7_TREND" to "TREND" and save the change.
Fig. 01
2 Open the picture "@pcs7_trend.pdl" and change its name to "@pg_ctrl_pid_trend.pdl".
Change the width and height of the picture and the picture window "TrendPicture" which is inside the picture and then save the changes.
Fig. 02
3 Test your changes during Runtime. Only the size of the trend view for the faceplate type "CTRL_PID" has been changed. The size of the other views and the size of the trend view of other types of faceplate have not been changed.
Fig. 03
4 Warning!
The next time you run the OS project editor you should not overwrite the changed template file "@pg_ctrl_pid_viewlist.pdl" in the project directory with any corresponding files from the Product library (delivered). If this template is left unchecked, all changes will be lost. The template file differences are displayed in the OS project editor. Basic Data tab, where you can deselect overwriting. Alternatively you may store the project's changed template files in the product library. To save the revised template to the peoduct livrary, copy the changed files into the path "<Installation_path>\SIEMENS\WINCC\options\pdl\faceplatedesigner_V6\..." Your changes will now be used as default. |

How can you hide default faceplate views that are not required?
You can make the changes to the default faceplates using the WinCC editor, Faceplate Designer. Information on this topic is available in the manual "Process Control System PCS 7 - Programming Instructions for Blocks", Section 2.2. These instructions show how to remove the "Batch" view from the standard faceplate "CTRL_PID". If the "Batch" entry is to be removed from the combo box for selecting the desired views, then the "Batch" view must also be removed from the loop display.
Fig. 01
1 In WinCC Runtime open the faceplate from which you wish to remove a view. Open the combo box for selecting the desired view - see Fig. 01. Note the views used and their order for the following step.
2 Open the Faceplate Designer.
From the "Type" combo box, select the faceplate type "CTRL_PID". Add the views you require to the "Selected views:" list. The "Standard" and "Messages" views are already in the list. You should add the views "Maintenance", "Parameters" and "Trend" from the "Available views" list. Do not add the "Batch" view to the "Selected views:" list. Using the arrow buttons you can define the order of the views in the "Selected views:" combo box and in the loop display.
Fig. 02
Make sure that the "Loop display" option box is checked.
3 Click the "Generate" button to generate the Picture Template. Information on the picture templates is available in section 2.7 of the manual "Process Control System PCS 7 - Block Programming Instructions" and in Entry ID
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/22539815/
Important
Only generate the templates for the following two pictures "@PL_CTRL_PID.pdl" and "@PG_CTRL_PID_VIEWLIST.pdl". When you are prompted for overwriting the pictures, only answer "Yes" for these pictures. You should not overwrite any other picture.
Fig. 03
Fig. 04
4 The templates for the view selection and loop display have been changed.

Fig. 05
In Runtime call up the faceplate again and check the changes.
Fig. 06
5 Warning:
The next time you run the OS project editor, you should not overwrite the changed faceplate template files in the project directory with corresponding files from the Product library, or the changes would be lost. The differences in the template files are displayed in the OS project editor, where you can deselect overwriting.
Fig. 07
Alternatively you can store the project's changed template files in the Product library. To do this you copy the two changed files into the path "<Installation_path>\SIEMENS\WINCC\options\pdl\faceplatedesigner_V6\...". Your changes will now be used as default. |

Which template pictures for faceplates are used by the Faceplate Designer and the OS Project Editor?
Detailed Information on this topic is available in the manual "Process Control System PCS 7 - Block Programming Instructions", sections 2.2 and 2.7. The proper use of the Faceplate Designer and the OS Project Editor requires an understanding of template picture. The following example uses the block type "CT_PI to explain how to create a template picture.
@pg_ctrl_pid.pdl This picture contains all the components of the faceplate. It includes other picture windows through which other template pictures are shown
@pg_ctrl_pid_overview.pdl Overview Window Picture window for displaying the alarm status, batch status, instance-specific message acknowledgment and message release for the faceplate. Normally the group display is shown here. If the faceplate is used for a multi-instance block, several group displays can also be shown here. The display is defined via the configuration of the picture "@PG_<Type>_Overview.pdl". The same picture is also displayed in the faceplate's loop display.
@pg_ctrl_pid_viewlist.pdl View list Picture window for displaying and selecting the available views
@pg_ctrl_pid_standard.pdl
@pg_ctrl_pid_limits.pdl
@pg_ctrl_pid_maintenance.pdl
@pg_ctrl_pid_parameters.pdl View Picture window for displaying the individual views of the faceplate. These template pictures are created separately for each type of block. Here we see the "Standard" view.
@pcs7_alarm.pdl View Picture window for displaying the "Messages" view. This template picture is the default template for all types of block.
@pcs7_trend.pdl View Picture window for displaying the "Trend" view. This template picture is the default template for all types of blocks.
When a picture is selected, the C script function "PCS7_Trend_V6()" is executed. Depending on whether archived or online values are displayed, the relevant picture is loaded into the "TrendPicture" picture window of the picture "@pcs7_trend.pdl" with "WinCC Online Trend Control". For Online Trend the picture "@conl1_standard.pdl" is loaded and for archive data the picture "<ServerPrefix>@CONL1_<TagName>.pdl".
@pcs7_batch.pdl View Picture window for displaying the "Batch" view. This template picture is the default template for all types of blocks.

Incorporating trend picture in faceplate (PCS 7 V5 and higher)
Faceplates that can display trend pictures (MEAS_MON, CTRL_PID etc.), when you select Display Trend, call a picture with the name "@CONL1_<Instance>.PDL". This picture contains the trend picture that is supposed to be displayed in the faceplate. Please proceed as follows to incorporate a trend picture in a faceplate:
Requirement:
The measured values to be displayed for the trend display are configured in the Tag Logging.
If there is no archive available, please lucrate one:
Open Tag Logging and start the Archive Wizard.
Create a process value archive and select the tags to be displayed.
Save your configuration and close the Tag Logging.
Procedure for incorporation in the faceplate:
Determine the name of the faceplate in which you wish to insert the trend display:
the name stands (for example) as the header in Runtime in the Faceplate or Loop view (e.g. "System/Subsystem/Function/CFC1/7").
Open the Graphics Designer and the picture @conl1_.pdl from the GRACS folder. Save this picture observing the following name convention with "Save as..." so that the original picture remains unchanged:
"@CONL1_<Instance_name>.PDL"
Example:
"@CONL1_System_Subsystem_Function_CFC1_7.PDL"
This creates a reference between the picture and the faceplate. If you do not have any technological hierarchy, please use the complete correct faceplate name:
Example:
"@CONL1_S7_Program(1)_CFC1_1.PDL"
In the Graphics Designer you can also copy the name out of the dialog window by double-clicking the faceplate. Please note that with PCS 7 V5 the instance names are created with "/" instead of "_". To incorporate these pictures into the faceplate you must replace the "/" characters with "_" characters.
Note:
It is not possible to save a file whose name contains a "/".
You can create the link to the tag to be displayed in the configuration dialog, "Trends" tab and "Archive/Tab selection" field.
In "Title line" you can switch the title line of the control on or off as required and thus simultaneously enable or disable moving of the control in Runtime. In addition, in "Sizeable" you can define whether the size of the control can be changed in Runtime.
Note:
If you want to configure the faceplate in the "LOOP" display, then the trend picture is not displayed. The trend in the faceplate is only visible if the faceplate is configured as "SYMBOL".
If the faceplate is configured in the "FACEPLATE" view, the trend is only visible in the "LOOP" view, but not in the "FACEPLATE" view itself. |

my feeling is that you do not use the standard steps for creating the faceplate for pid control.
You have the picture CTRL_PID on @@PCS7Typicals.PDL
Inseret on your picture on Graphic Designer and after configuring connections you must see the entire trend with SP LMN ..
All others shortcuts steps do not work... |

Posted: 26/11/2017 14:32 Post subject: PCS 7 and CEMAT faceplates |
|
|
How can you have PCS 7 and CEMAT faceplates of the PID Control displayed simultaneously on the OS?
In the "@C_PCS7Typicals_V61.pdl" template CEMAT provides in addition to two PCS 7 standard symbols its own modified symbol for the CTRL_PID. "PCS7 CTRL_PID Control" is assigned as the "Servername" property for both PCS 7 symbols. This changed entry causes the relevant CEMAT faceplates to be opened in WinCC Runtime instead of PCS 7 faceplates.
However, this change means that the CEMAT PID symbol cannot be linked automatically to the relevant instance tag (upon OS compilation via the TH or in the Graphics Designer with the Dynamic Wizard), because the system searches for the "C_CTRL_PID" structure type, but the controllers belong to the "CTRL_PID" type. So the system doesn't find any tags.
The following Dynamic Wizard procedure permits you to link both CEMAT Control PID and PCS 7 Control PID faceplates.
1 Open the Properties dialog of the CEMAT faceplate and under "Properties > General > Servername" you change the entry from "PCS7 C_CTRL_PID Control" to "PCS7 CTRL_PID Control". You must make this setting on all the CEMAT Control PID faceplates.
Warning:
Note the faceplates, because this entry has to be undone again after linking with the Dynamic Wizard "Connect picture block to tag structure".
2 After making the change on all the CEMAT Control PID faceplates you start the Dynamic Wizard "Connect faceplate to measuring point". In this way the correct structure tags are linked to the CEMAT Control PID faceplates.
3 Once the Dynamic Wizard "Connect faceplate to measuring point" has been completed you must now undo the server link again for all the CEMAT Control PID faceplates, so that the CEMAT faceplates are displayed.
Open the Properties dialog of the CEMAT faceplate and under "Properties > General > Servername" you change the entry from "PCS7 CTRL_PID Control" to "PCS7 C_CTRL_PID Control". You must make this setting on all the CEMAT Control PID faceplates. |

How can you display in addition the values and a group display of another block in a PCS 7 faceplate and how can you confecționate other views in the faceplate using the Faceplate Designer?
In PCS 7, the data/messages of an AS block (function block, FB) are displayed by default in a faceplate. The case might arise, however, that the data/messages of other AS blocks are to be displayed in a faceplate.
describes a sample application and shows different possible solutions. This entry describes how to integrate values and a group display of another block in your PCS 7 faceplate and how to create a new view using the Faceplate Designer.
The data of block "MOT_IMEAS" (block type "MEAS_MON") is to be displayed in addition in the faceplate of the "MOT" block (block type "MOTOR").
Fig. 01
The following table describes how to have the following data displayed in addition in a faceplate of the type "MOTOR":
An I/O field is to be added to the "Standard" view to display the actual motor current.
A group display for displaying violations of the motor current limit values is to be inserted in the "Standard" view.
A "Current" view is to be added for displaying and entering the limit values for current monitoring.
A "Trend" view is to be added for displaying the time sequence of the motor current in the WinCC Online Trend Control.
Notes:
The "Message" view of the OS faceplate "MOT" will not be dealt with here. Entry ID 28737155 describes how you can have the limit value messages displayed in the "Message" view of the OS faceplate "MOT".
The messages of the "MEAS_MON" block are not displayed by default in the group display of the "MOTOR" block icon. Notes on the configuration of the group display are available in Entry ID 28737155.
The solution described here is not exclusively for the "MOTOR" or "MEAS_MON" block type and you can use the procedure shown also for other types of block.
No. Procedure
1 Assign suitable block name in the CFC
Pay attention to the assignment of block names in the CFC. Assign a name to the block with the additional data in the CFC that begins with the same name as the block in the faceplate of which it is to be displayed. In this example, the name of the block for displaying the actual motor data is "MOT". The name of the block for additional motor current monitoring is "MOT_IMEAS".
2 Compile and download the AS/OS
Compile and download the AS and OS to make the tags available in the OS.
3 Extend the template picture "@PG_MOTOR_STANDARD.pdl"
In the Graphics Designer you open the "@PG_MOTOR_STANDARD.pdl" template picture.
Enlarge the picture
Open the "Object Properties" dialog. Select the entry for the complete picture in the object list. Increase the value of the property "Picture Object > Geometry > Picture Height" by about 40 pixels. This provides space in the lower part of the picture for more graphical elements.
Fig. 02
Add and interconnect an output field
Add an output field for displaying the motor current in the free space at the bottom of the template picture.
Dynamize the "Output value" property with a tag direct connection. Use the character string "_IMEAS.U" as tag nam
Fig. 03
Add and interconnect a Group Display
Insert a Group Display for displaying the limit value violations into the template picture.
Dynamize the "Group Value" property with a direct tag connection. Use the character string "_IMEAS.EventState" as tag name.
Fig. 04
4 Add views
Use the "WinCC Faceplate Designer" to add the two new views "Current" and "Trend" to the "MOTOR" faceplate. You can find detailed information about the "WinCC Faceplate Designer"
In the manual "PCS 7 - Programming Instructions for Blocks"
In the programming and operating manual "PCS 7 Faceplates"
In Entry ID 22539815
You can proceed as follows to insert the additional views.
Determine views already used
Determine the views already being used in the faceplate of the "MOTOR" type.
Explanation:
When working with the Faceplate Designer, all the views of the faceplate have to be reassigned. When you select a block in the Faceplate Designer, by default the Standard and Message view is always selected no matter which views are already being used.
At Runtime you can open the "MOTOR" type faceplate and open the drop-down list for the different views.
Fig. 05
The following views are used in this example:
Standard view
Maintenance view
Batch view
Message view
Make a backup of template pictures already changed
Make a backup of the template pictures already changed, e.g. "@PG_MOTOR_STANDARD.pdl".
Open the faceplate in the Faceplate Designer
In the WinCC Explorer, double-click on the "Faceplate Designer" item. The "PCS 7 Faceplate Designer" opens. In the "Type" combo box, select the "MOTOR" item.
Configure views already used
Extend the "Selected views:" list so that it contains all the views already used. For this you select the relevant items in the "Available views:" list and move them into the "Selected views:" list. Here, you must pay attention to the order.
Configure the additional view "Trend"
For this you select the "Trend" item in the "Available views:" list and transfer that item to the "Selected views:" list.
Configure the additional view "Current"
Select the "More..." button. The "Faceplate Designer: further view" dialog opens. In the "Name" field you enter the "Current" character string and acknowledge with the "OK" button. The "Current" item is now in the "Available views:" list. Transfer the "Current" item to the "Selected views:" list. Change the order of the views accordingly.
Generate template pictures of the faceplate
Fig. 06
Click on the "Generate..." button.
Note:
This copies the template pictures of the faceplate from the WinCC installation path into the "GraCS" folder of the OS project. New template pictures are created for new views. An additional prompt appears for each existing template picture asking whether or not it should be overwritten. In this example, you should not overwrite the template picture "@PG_MOTOR_STANDARD.pdl", because in this case you have already made changes in the picture. The remaining template pictures can be created or overwritten:
"@PL_MOTOR.pdl"
"@PG_MOTOR.pdl"
"@PG_MOTOR_OVERVIEW.pdl"
"@PG_MOTOR_VIEWLIST.pdl"
This picture is for selecting the views at Runtime. Since the "Trend" and "Current" views are to be added, you should in any case regenerate this template picture.
"@PG_MOTOR_MAINTENANCE.pdl"
"@PG_MOTOR_CURRENT.pdl"
This picture is for displaying the actual "Current" view.
Edit/copy template picture "@PG_MOTOR_CURRENT.pdl"
This template picture is empty after generation. You can replace and change this picture with the "Standard" view of the "MEAS_MON" faceplate.
The procedure is as follows.
In the Graphics Designer, you open the picture "@PG_MEAS_MON_STANDARD.pdl".
Save this picture as "@PG_MOTOR_CURRENT.pdl".
Insert the prefix "_IMEAS" for all dynamizations.
Select the menu command Edit > Select All".
In the dialog "Re-wiring of variable links" ("Edit > Re-wire > Variable links...") you select the "Search and Replace" tab.
In the "Search for:" input field you enter the "." character.
In the "Replace with:" input field you enter the character string "_IMEAS.".
Click on the "Select all" button.
Click on the "Preview" button
Fig. 07
Click on the "Replace" button.
Save the template picture "@PG_MOTOR_CURRENT.pdl".
Configure the archive tag for the "Trend" view
Now open the master template picture "@PG_MOTOR.pdl".
Open the "Object Properties" dialog.
Select the object "Trend Functions".
Define the properties "StandardTrend" and "ReturnPath"
Note:
"StandardTrend=2"
In the WinCC Online Trend Control the Online tag of the WinCC Tag Management is displayed and not the archive tag of the Tag Logging.
"ReturnPath=_IMEAS.U:CO_DKGREEN,_IMEAS.U_AH:CO_RED,
_IMEAS.U_WH:CO_YELLOW"
In the WinCC Online Trend Control the motor current (green) is displayed as well as the limit values (red and yellow).
Make these settings also in the master template picture "@PL_MOTOR.pdl".
Edit/copy template picture "@PG_MOTOR_STANDARD.pdl"
When you generate the template pictures, all the pictures for displaying the various views are set to the standard size. Change the "Height" property of the "@PG_MEAS_MON_STANDARD.pdl" picture to 254 pixels, for example.
5 Test the faceplate at Runtime. |
