To synchronize your servers
1. Start Experion on the primary server and connect a Station to it.
2. Choose ViewSystem StatusServer Redundancy.
The Server Redundancy Status display appears.
3. Ensure that:
l The primary server status is Running.
l The status of the server or servers (if your system has BCC) to
be synchronized is Running.
l The link status is OK.
l You have the security level that is required to be able to
synchronize server. For more information, see “Setting security
levels for server synchronization and fail over.”
4. Click Synchronize or Synchronize All (in systems with BCC) to
synchronize the servers.
For systems without BCC, this will synchronize the backup server
to the primary server.
For systems with BCC, this will synchronize each Running backup
server consecutively within a server location. This will ensure that
there is always a running server available in that server location.
For systems with BCC, you can choose the servers that will be
synchronized by selecting Show all actions.
A confirmation message appears in the message zone.
5. Click Yes.
The Experion database on the primary server is automatically
copied to the backup server.
It can take up to 15 minutes, depending on the database size, to
synchronize the servers. However, for systems where the two
servers have been out of sync for an extended period (e.g., up to a
day), synchronization can take longer.
Once synchronization is complete, the synchronization indicator (the
first LED in the Backup server group) changes from red to green and
the text changes from Not synchronized to Synchronized.
After the servers have been synchronized, automatic checkpointing
commences (the process whereby database changes on the primary
server are automatically sent to the backup server). |
