|
|
Hi
I am using Kinetix350 servo drive with studio 5000. How can I find out that the servo motor is homed? I tried to check position but it fluctuates and it is not fixed and reliable. Is there any bit status telling me that the servo is homed?
Professionally, what is the best way to check the servo is homed or not? |

Hello,
you have to start the MAH-instruction and if the instruction is complete the HomingStatus is set.
Google for MAH and you find a Rockwell-Documentation "Logix 5000 Controllers Motion Instructions". In this document you find something about the MAH-instruction.
I hope it helps.

I know about MAH instruction. I need to know if there is other way to check if servo is in home position? something like an internal tag or ...? |

Hello,
I'm not sure what you mean - why did you mean internal tag. Every axis has a structure and you work with this structure. It's the same like PLCOpen.
Look a this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twccGdvysWY
You find at 1:49 the input signals with Input A4 - Define Home and on 4:45 you find the Homing-section (with start, abort and Homing status). |

I mean an specific tag (BOOL) which gets high when the servo is at home position. |

Hello,
I think now, what you want - let me declare. First of all you have to refernce the axis. It's depend of the kind of axis - linear or radial.
Let me declare with a linear axis - it's a axis which runs backward and forward.
And you have a signal by a sensor for your reference point. If the axis runs in the homing mode and its get the signal from the sensor your actual position is now 0 (or what you want) and the status of the axis is homing.
And if you move now the axis you can compare the actual postion of the axis with your homeposition. If its equal you can set a bit high. and if its not the bit is low.
Hope this helps.
Thanks |
