How do you update corporate libraries in STEP 7 (TIA Portal)?

https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109739199/how-do-you-update-corporate-libraries-in-step-7- (tia-portal)-?dti=0&pnid=13613&lc=en-WW

The corporate library Lib001a.al13 is changed and saved as Lib002b.al13 at the same location on the server.

To share the new library with the client PCs the administrator edits the configuration file "CoporateSettings.xml" (Fig. 2) and enters the new name of the library.

Then the administrator distributes the updated file "CorporateSettings.xml" to the client PCs (by copying and replacing). Here, the directory on the client PCs is preset:
C:\ProgramData\Siemens\Automation\Portal V13\CorporateSettings\
The TIA Portal on the client PCs recognizes that the "CorporateSettings.xml" file has been changed only through the changed name of the library (Fig. 3) and requests the user to accept the changes.

When the administrator makes changes to the corporate library, you should also change the library file name accordingly in the configuration file. In the example below the library Lib001a.al13 is changed and stored as Lib002b.al13 on the server.

Enter the name of the updated library in the "CoporateSettings.xml" file and copy the configuration file to the client PCs in the directory:
C:\ProgramData\Siemens\Automation\Portal V13\CorporateSettings\
The administrator has to replace the existing configuration file on the client PCs with the new configuration file.

STEP 7 (TIA Portal) recognizes a change of library on the client PCs only through the changed name and issues a message requesting you to accept the changes. After confirmation the existing corporate library is likewise updated to the new version.

Furthermore, STEP 7 (TIA Portal) also recognizes an extension of the corporate library, for example when a new library is added.

When starting TIA Portal V13 onwards, how do you get a global library to open automatically and use it as corporate library, for example?
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/100451450/when-starting-tia-portal-v13-onwards-how-do-you-get-a-global-library-to-open-automatically-and-use-it-as-corporate-library-for-example-?dti=0&lc=en-WW

You can use global libraries as corporate libraries. As administrator you can assign or modify libraries at any time. These libraries are stored in a defined path and can be set to open automatically when the TIA Portal is started. As soon as newer versions of corporate libraries are available, you can replace them centrally in a defined path.

The instructions below explain how you assign a corporate library ("TiaPortal_Lib", for example) to the STEP 7 (TIA Portal).
In TIA Portal you open the "Settings" using the menu command "Tools > Settings" and open the folder "General > General".
In "Settings" you scroll to the "Storage settings" view and select "Specify default setting for storage location".

Open the Windows Explorer and navigate to the storage location for the configuration file (Fig. 01):
"C:\ProgramData\Siemens\Automation\Portal V13\CorporateSettings".
Open the "CorporateSettings.xml" file and enter the storage path and file name of the library as shown in Fig. 02. The Path and File Name entries are mandatory for all corporate libraries.
Save and then close the file.

Note
You also have the option of defining numeroase global libraries as corporate libraries in the configuration file.

If the "CorporateSettings.xml" file is not in the storage location specified above, you have to create an XML file with the structure as shown in Fig. 02. Use the "UTF-8" coding and save the file as "CorporateSettings.xml" in the directory "C:\ProgramData\Siemens\Automation\Portal V13\CorporateSettings". However, you can store the corporate libraries in any directory of the computer or on a network drive.
