How do you uninstall STEP 7 (TIA Portal) completely?
Uninstallation via the Inventory Tool
With STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V13+SP1 and higher the Inventory Tool is available for the complete uninstallation of the separate software packages in TIA Portal (STEP 7, WinCC, Startdrive,…). The Inventory Tool is in the MS Windows Explorer under
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Siemens\Automation\Siemens Installer Assistant\306
To run the Inventory Tool you need administrator rights.
Double-click the Siemens Installer Assistant "Inventory.exe" to open the Inventory Tool.
"All" is entered by default in the "Uninstall command" input field. Click on the "Discovery" button. The system is then scanned for the installed Siemens software which is then listed in the "Uninstall script" table. This procedure can take several minutes.
Note
The relevant items are highlighted in bold, are of the "SEPRO" type and refer each to an installation package ("SEBU_STEP7", for example) of the edition "TIAP13".
Right-click each software item that you wish to uninstall and then select "Uninstall Unit" in the pop-up menu. With this action a query is created for each selected software package and listed in the "Uninstall command" input field.
Now click the "Uninstall" button to uninstall the selected software package.
After the uninstallation you restart your PC.
