How do you read out or write tag values with an Excel application?

WinCC (TIA Portal) supports use of the web service (SOAP).
This permits you to access the tags of an operator panel from an external application like Microsoft Excel, as in this example, via Ethernet.

The sample project was created with WinCC Advanced V14 SP1 and the Excel template with
MS Excel Professional 2010.
