In WinCC (TIA Portal), how do you edit graphics which are used in faceplates?

In WinCC (TIA Portal), project-related graphics are managed in the project graphics. You can also use an external tool in addition to picture editing in the TIA Portal. However, faceplates are not linked to the graphics of the project, so that pictures used in the blocks (in the graphic IO fields or switches, for example) have to be edited in a different way.
Only the pictures contained in the project graphics can be edited using the "Edit" command in the pop-up menu.
Instructions for extending graphics and editing faceplates
1. Open the project library of your project and mark under "Types" the version of the faceplate that you want to change. Right-click to open the pop-up menu and select the "Edit type" command.
2. Add a graphics display to the faceplate by marking the corresponding icon in the "Basic objects" palette and dragging and dropping it into the working area.
3. In the inspector window go to the "Properties" tab and select the picture you want to change. (In this example: "P_IK10_XX_01958I"). Confirm the selection with "Apply"
The selected picture is inserted in the graphics display.
4. Mark the graphics display, right-click to open the pop-up menu and select the "Edit graphic" item.
5. In the dialog that opens you select the option "Edit graphic centrally. ..." and confirm with "OK".
Note
If instead you select the option "Edit graphic. Other points of use ...", only the picture instance of the graphics display is changed. The other copies of the picture file in the faceplate are not affected by the changes.
6. The graphics editor MS Paint opens. Use it to make the required changes and save the graphic. Then close the graphics editor. No further action is required. Use the Export Graphics Tool for editing the graphics with a different graphics editor.
7. All points of use of the graphic in the faceplate now show the changed picture.
8. Continue by deleting the graphics no longer needed, for example, using the "Delete" command in the pop-up menu. |
