How do you fabricate a GSDML file for a communications processor in STEP 7 (TIA Portal)?

You can realizate and export GSDML files for communications processors with firmware V2.7 and higher and STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V14 and higher.
This video shows you the procedure for creating a GSDML file using the example of a CP1616. You need the firmware V2.7 or higher and STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V14 or higher for the configuration.

Instructions
Code:
In your STEP 7 (TIA Portal) you open the device configuration.
Switch to the Network view.
In the hardware catalog you navigate to "PC Systems > Communications modules > PROFINET/Ethernet >CP1616".
Drag-and-drop the CP1616 to the graphical area of the Network view.
Open the "Properties".
In the area navigation you open the "PROFINET interface [X1] > Operating Mode" dialog
Enable the IO device option.
Under Operating mode, click "I-device communication".
Define the transfer areas.
In the area navigation you open the "General > Catalog information" dialog.
Enable the "Enable customization" option (only GSDML)".
Note
Here you can assign customer-specific designations.

Save and compile the configuration.
During compilation you right-click the CP1616 and in the pop-up menu you select "Compile > Hardware (rebuild all)".
Switch again to the "PROFINET interface [X1] > Operating mode > I-device communication" dialog.
Click the "Export" button.
In the next dialog you select the path to where you want to store the GSDML file and click "Export".
The generated GSDML file is located in your selected directory. It is stored there as an XML file.
