Hitachi have announced recently they will cease production of the EH Series of PLC CPUs (ie. EH104, EH208, EH316, etc). The announcement has been abrupt and left me in a real jam. I have about 15 years worth of customers with systems that utilise those CPUs and code written in Actwin.

I have purchased a EHV CPU that I have never used before and didn't know existed until about 8 weeks ago. Hitachi have been absolutely woeful in terms of support. I have a CPU with no current means of programming it. They have offered no support of software with it and nobody here in Australia seems to have a clue.

I have a licensed version of Actwin 3.71A. Does anyone know if there is anyway to utilise/program the EHV CPU using Actwin? All Hitachi documentation suggests something called Code Editor is required but Hitachi have done nothing to provide me with a copy of the code and as I said, I have years of code that I would only want to have to re-code on a new platform in the event of no other solution. Can anyone even point me towards a means of legally obtaining a copy of Code Editor?

Hitachi have dropped the ball and long term I feel I will probably be forced to ditch Hitachi and move to an Allan Bradley platform. But I still need to find a solution in terms of what I can do to support my existing customer base.
