Hello,
Can someone help me pls. I have a to connect to Hilscher net tap 100 re-rs via usb to make its firmware update. The device is not recognized in my windows.
I have installed on my laptop windows 7 prof 64.
I installed the driver from dvd / folder downloaded from Hilscher but still is not working.
In Sycon i have this error "The device is not assigned to hardware!", but nothing is appearing when i try to scan in Device Assignment.
Could someone tell me how to fix it? |

The following devices are recoverable via USB:
NT 100-RE-EN all
NT 100-RE-xx serial number 20888 and above
NT 100-DP-xx serial number 20397 and above
NT 100-DN-xx serial number 20145 and above
NT 100-CO-xx serial number 20060 and above
Devices with serial numbers below can not be updated via USB and are
remaining recoverable with MEMORY card only!
Reset Device to Factory Settings with Memory Card
Using a memory card that has the basic firmware stored on it, the netTAP
NT 100 device can be set back to factory settings.
In order to do so, copy from the directory of the DVD
Supplements & Examples\Device Recovery\netTAP 100 Factory
Settings\Recovery via Memory Card\
the file STARTUP.INI and the directory BACKUP (including all subdirectories)
into the root directory of an empty MEMORY card.
Proceed as follows:
1. Remove power supply from the netTAP NT 100 device.
2. Insert the memory card with basic firmware until it snaps in.
3. Supply 24 V operation voltage to the device.
The device loads the firmware while the SYS-LED indicates the following
states: Quick alternating between green and yellow (for approx. 8 s),
then solid yellow (for approx. 10 s), then switched off for a short time
and finally solid green.
Afterwards the device is reset to factory settings.
Subsequently the device needs to be configured by the software
SYCON.net using a PC. The configuration steps are described in document
Configuration of Gateway and Proxy Devices

Thank you for your replay.
The device that i am using has the serial number 27927.
I received it on friday.
So as per my understanding these devices comes from the factory with no firmware on them, and i need a card to be able to use it.
I have to use this device to link some Modbus-rtu devices to a VIM in DeltaV.
(primary connection Ethernet slave and secondary Modbus rtu master for those devices)
Can you tell me if i have selected the right configuration?
I have selected this:
EtherNet/IP Adapter Modbus RTU Master/Slave NTEISMBR.NXF
but i am not sure what to configure gateway or Ethernet ip adapter?
On the gateway i can select the ip, but on Ethernet i can not do that.
I have noticed that no Licence is specified on the box. Do i need one for my application?

The usb cable that i received with the device is not working.
I found another cable, but i had problems making the driver to work with my windows.
So i had to turn off digital signature from my windows.
Not sure that it is the right way but i see my NetTap device driver working.
I can select the device now in to the sycon program to download the configuration, but still the device is not working. I can not upload from device to sycon the configuration. No idea why.
I have a steady green and a flashing red at APL LED.
And at diagnostic i have "Logical queue handle is undefined".
Anyway it is a steep forward. |

If there is no registration code, it operates in basic mode, and only one device can be set.
