|
|
Hello all!
I'm requesting for help with a brand new Siemens Sinamics CU305 PN control unit with PROFINET interface. At power-up, the status LEDs randomly blink a while with red and yellow colours. After a minute or so, both the RDY and COM LEDs start blinking red at a constant rate. Nothing else happens.
I'm unable to connect to the control unit with a null modem cable through the RS232 interface.
Any suggestions, please? |

Thank you for your prompt answer!
Unfortunately, the link provided for the latest firmware actually points to GSDML file used for fieldbus configuration, not to drive firmware image.
I was unable to locate any firmwares from the Siemens site. Do you know where I can download them? |

Thank you for the link, but unfortunately this time it points to SINAMICS MICROMASTER STARTER, which is a Windows software, and not the drive firmware. As I am unable to connect to the drive using the STARTER software, it is no use to me.
Regarding the connections, I am not exactly sure what you mean by that, but I've connected the power supply to the control unit (+24V) and a null modem cable for RS232, nothing else.
Are there some other connections I should make? |

Thank you for the information, but I'm not sure if it applies to my CU305 which has a Secure Digital (SD) memory card slot, and NOT CompactFlash (CF).
Are there any tools for SD cards? |

seaman,
-Is the first time you are booting the system?...or after a time the system broken down???
-External 24V power supply is required for operation.
-The CU305 has a DRIVE-CLiQ interface. You may connect exactly one of the following components to this interface:? SMI motor ? 1 encoder of type SMC10, SMC20, SMC30, SME20 or SME25
-Further components or connections to the DRIVE-CLiQ interface are not permitted and lead to errors in the drive system.
-the IP address is not stored permanently. The IP address entry is lost after POWER ON/OFF. If the IP address is to be stored in a non-volatile memory, the address must be assigned using the Primary Setup Tool (PST).
-A PROFINET interface with 2 ports is integrated in the CU305 PN module.
The ports must not be interconnected in such a way that a ring topology is created.
-put a picture with what exactly what's writing on the SD card.
-If you are using one CPU, p8929 is 1 and when the system is booting SINAMICS is waiting a confirmation telegram from CPU.
-Are you using Failsafe..?? because when the system is booting, p8929 is 2 and SINAMICS S recognizes that PROFINET telegrams from 2 controls are expected, and structures the communication according to the configuration in HW Config.
- p8929 PN Number of remote controllers must be 1 or 2 accordingly.
- p9601 SI enable, functions integrated in the drive (CPU 1)
-the memory is a SanDisk (SD) and is compatible with MMC but has greater capacity and speed...
Tell me more and all about and maybe we discover the cause.... |

I'm sorry if my questions seem vague. I appreciate the time and effort you have used to help me.
Primary Setup Tool says "No station was detected on the network." Even though I have connected the PC and the CU305 PN by an Ethernet cable. Is that normal?
Answers to your previous questions below:
- This is the first time I'm booting the system. It has not worked ever before.
- Power is connected.
- Drive-cliq is NOT connected (not needed).
- One Ethernet port is connected.
- The SD card has the text "Siemens MMC V 04.01.00.02" on it.
- I have not been able to set any parameters.
- Failsafe is not used (to my knowledge). |

rott, thanks for you help!
I used PST4.1 on Win7 with the DLC protocol installed, but was not able to see the CU305 PN device, nor any other devices for that matter. |
