A suitable direct cable can then be made directly between the 9-way D and the Melsec 8-way mini-DIN. The USB to RS232 solutions to be extremely haphazard as they do not fully implement RS232. By going straight for an RS422 solution you avoid the need for an expensive SC09 cable.
