3.3.1 Software Requirements
Before you can work with the FM 351/451 software, you must first have:
• An installed version of STEP 7 Basic V5.3 ServicePack 2 or later.
• STEP 7 Basic V5.4 SP3 or later is required for operation with Windows Vista.
• For other software requirements, please consult the STEP 7 Product Information Bulletin.

FM 351/451 Positioning is a 32-bit application which requires Microsoft Windows 95/NT
as its operating system. It cannot run under MS Windows 3.1 or MS Windows for Workgroups 3.11FM 351/451 Positioning registers itself in Microsoft Windows 95/NT system files.
You cannot move or rename STEP 7 files or folders using Microsoft Windows utilities such as the Explorer or modify STEP 7 data in the Microsoft Windows registry.
The program may no longer run properly after such modifications.
• Insert diskette 1 in the drive and start the Setup program. The files are then copied to the PC/programming device and the appropriate entries are made in the MS Windows files. Important information on handling will be displayed during the Setup process.
• The drive on which you install your FM 351/451 Positioning is automatically determined with the installed version of STEP 7.
• Optional packages can only be installed once STEP7 has been fully installed.
• Deinstallation works in reverse: the optional packages must be removed first, and then STEP7. MSWindows 95/NT must also be restarted following deinstallation of the software.
