Forming a Fail-safe Analog Output Signal

A fail-safe analog value output is implemented for current up to SIL 3 according to IEC 62061/61508 and PL d according to EN ISO 13849-1 and for voltage up to SIL 2 according to IEC 62061/61508 and PL d according to EN ISO 13849-1.

The implementation is done with a standard analog module of the ET 200SP, which is monitored with a fail-safe analog input card and switched off by a fail-safe output card.
Typical application scenarios for this are:
Fail-safe control of a valve for flow regulation
Fail-safe speed control of soft starters
Fail-safe control of stepper motors

The advantage of this application example is the simple integration into an existing system consisting of fail-safe SIMATIC S7 PLC and SIMATIC ET 200SP in the TIA Portal STEP 7 Safety Advanced environment.
