Connectors
•A new version of PI SDK (1.3.8) results in the following improvements:
•Live Data requests use the Event Pipe mechanism.
•VantagePoint uses PI SDK mechanisms in a more efficient and stable manner.
•The mechanism for caching points on the VantagePoint side is more effective.
•The Rules Mechanism for selecting the best matching tag for time-series and Live Data requests. It applies to the following connectors:
•FactoryTalk Live Data connectors
•FactoryTalk Historian ME and SE connectors in the FactoryTalk Directory
•The Event Pipe mechanism for Live Data requests. It applies to the following connectors:
•FactoryTalk Historian ME and SE connectors in the FactoryTalk Directory
•Stand-Alone FactoryTalk Historian ME and SE connectors
•OSIPI connectors
•Passing aggregations of time-series requests to the PI server. It applies to the following connectors:
•FactoryTalk Historian ME and SE connectors in the FactoryTalk Directory
•Stand-Alone FactoryTalk Historian ME and SE connectors
•OSIPI connectors
•InSQL connectors
•Improving the data processing time by moving certain aggregation-related calculations to the InSQL engine, version 9 and 10.
•OPC HDA connectors
•It is possible to customize standard attribute codes (OPC Foundation).
•It is possible to create an OPC HDA connector with an out-of-the-box Emerson DeltaV configuration.
•FactoryTalkMetrics connectors
•The connector and its documentation are fully integrated with the VantagePoint system.

System Requirements
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 with SP2 (32-bit only); Also requires IIS, part of the Application Server Role.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with SP1 (only available in 64-bit); Also requires IIS, part of the Web Server Role, with IIS version 6 compatibility. Note that IIS is set to 32-bit mode only.
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
Microsoft Office 2010 (32-bit only)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, 8, or 9
Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 full version (included with install)
Note: The .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile is not supported
