Our client is a specialist vehicle manufacturer working primarily in the Defence and Security sectors. As this is a specialised area, manufacturing volumes are low to medium and it is important that the manufacturing operation is right first time.

The job
We are looking for an Electrical Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer to provide the bridge between the designers and shop floor line operators. He or she will identify bottlenecks in the process and eliminate non value add operations not just in manufacturing processes but also in terms of job release, stores kitting operations, factory layout and material presentation.

Responsibilities and Duties include:
* Planning and monitoring electrical aspects of production tasks.
* Identification, analysis and improvement of production processes
* Identifying and optimising work breakdown structures to ensure efficient use of manufacturing resources
* Establishing a programme of planned plant maintenance dealing with both external contractors/suppliers and internal staff
* Creating and monitoring KPIs for production performance
* Translating schematic diagrams into efficient wiring lists and looms.
* Developing and implementing efficient assembly, test and debug procedures.

Qualifications and experience:
* HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or have completed a relevant apprenticeship
* Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience of 110v and 240v electrical design and installation, certified to latest wiring regulations, BS7671.
* Able to debug modern vehicle electrical systems such as CAN bus.
* Good PC skills. Spreadsheets, word processor and MS project or other planning tools.
* Able to work at other locations in UK and worldwide for short periods.
