Hi
I have a LOGO8 and I would like to control a VSD drive with a CU240E-PN-F module. But I can't seem to make it work. I can't seem to get the network communication to work. Does anyone know if it is impossible to do?
If anyone has done it or maybe there is a guide somewhere, please let me know.
All the best from Denmark

ernst,
On this link you can find a synthesis on Application examples for SINAMIC G drives
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/60733299/interaction-of-simatic-control-technology-with-sinamics-drives
Regarding your problem:
1. CU240E-2 PN-F 6SL3244-0BB13-1FA0 can be controlled via PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP. That means you have to have in your network a processor (PLC CPU eventually with Failsafe Capability) which can establish a communication using PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP protocols.
With PROFINET IO you have to have an IO Controller CPU (for accessing registries SatusWord, ControlWord... from CU240E-2 PN-F via PROFIDRIVE Telegrams for issuing commands to Drive G120).
Unfortunately all the LOGO processors have not this capabilty.
You can use a S7-1200 with PROFINET IO and FailSafe Capabilities as
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/pd/555486
or
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/pd/255094
The same problems with EtherNet/IP which need SIMATIC NET to be installed.
Please read this documentation
https://cache.industry.siemens.com/dl/files/004/109483004/att_869546/v1/G120_Fieldbuses_FH17_0116_eng_en-US.pdf
Here are some control examples but with different Drives just in case you change your option
using LOGO
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/21690068/
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/23753479/
or S7-200

https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/21690362/
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/24104802/
2 Another option is to change Control Unit (CU) example CU230P-2 HVAC or CU230P-2 BT
Read this and see what you need eventually - Fieldbus connection for USS Modbus RTU BACnet MS/TP P1 and use an COMMUNICATION MODULE LOGO! CMR2040

Thank you very much for your reply. I need to find myself another PLC. I thought that if both devices was tcp/ip it was possible to control the drive with the logo ( I do not need the failsafe capability ).
I'm going a different route with my project then. |
