Control System Project Engineer - Siemens S7

£35,000 - 45,000 + 4K Car Allowance + Benefits

A fast growing integrator and manufacture of automated materials handling systems looking for Siemens S7 controls engineers to be involved in design, installation and support of control systems for brand new and retrofit projects. The business is growing rapidly and can now recruit up to four control system project engineers

The Role
You will be responsible for:

- Developing control systems in Siemens S7 for new projects upgrading materials handling systems on site or for brand new machinery installations. The systems you are writing the controls for consist of cranes, conveyors and automated retrieval and storage equipment.

- Sizing the motors, cables and sensors required for these control systems

- Being actively involved in the installation and some commissioning of the Siemens S7 control system at clients sites

- Acting as a support mechanism to customers with hotline support contracts in place, this will see you carrying out telephone support to these customers and also going to site when the on site maintenance team are struggling with a particular, PLC, control system problem.

- The role will be roughly a 70/30 split with 70% of the time being in the office and 30% being out at site supporting, installing or commissioning the Siemens S7 control systems.

The Candidate
To be successful in your application you will need:

- An ONC or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- A background in writing control systems with Siemens S7
- A proven track record of writing control systems for some form of automation or process
- Good examples would be automated production lines, materials handling systems or any other form of automated integrated solutions.
- You could also come from a process background writing full control systems for water treatment plants, food production, distillery etc.
- You will also need a history in writing HMI screens.
- You will also need to be flexible to travel to client sites when required and also be on call for PLC support one week in four.
