Hello Guys,

I would like to connect to a Weintek HMI is mounted in a steel box by itself on the production floor and connected via Ethernet cable and unmanaged switch to an OMRON PLC. My goal at this time is to only upload from HMI to PC.
I used Weintek's utility manager, clicked on publish and upload.
In the dialog box at the bottom there's an "HMI Name" which if I understand correctly can search for HMI connected to the network but I do not get anything.

Does anyone have experience with Weintek's HMIs and how to painlessly connect to them.

Thanks

Kal

Thanks ntron and sorry for not putting more detail in mu initial post.
The wientek HMI is a MT8070iE and has only one USB2 which I believe for a USB stick and doesn't have the mini USB which is used to connect a PC.

Thanks for the links I will check them all out.

Cheers
Kal

I tried uploading to a USB stick:

-Plugged the USB
-Got a dialog box clicked on Upload button
-In the following dialog box I entered 111111 for password but the first three choices which included uploading the project were dimmed and the only choice available was already checked and was to upload history.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Kal

So I was finally able to connect but it is password protected.
Anyway of cracking the password?
I had a peek with Wireshark and couldn't see anything that implied password.

Thanks

1. Open .mtp file in HEX-editor and navigate to the end of file.
2. Find the follow template: 1.1.1.1.1.1 ..... 01 FE
3. Some bytes lower you'll see the password:
4. You see C4 2F 01.* So now open Windows Calculator. Choose view->scientific. Choose the HEX number system.
Type what you see in hex-editor in Windows Calculator: 01 2F C4.
5. Change number system from HEX to DEC and you'll see the password:
If you want to REMOVE password - just erase it: C4 2F 01 -> 00 00 00

Thanks banguy but doesn't that mean that I would have to upload the project first to get to the .mtp file? Without the password I can not upload.

Thanks
Kal

No password matches. I also changed the cells you selected to 00 00 00. Also without result. Give me an email will send you a project, you can break the password
