Greetings!
I installed Eplan P8 2.4 on my computer that Factory Talk 9.0 was already installed, but after installing the x64 multikey driver to emulate the Dongle, the Codemeter that is responsible for the licenses of the rockwell services, stops working.
When I uninstall the multikey driver it works again. Has anyone managed to solve this?

Sometimes, the system uses the "Multikey.sys” file in the c:\windows\system32\drivers\ folder to emulate a dongle.
This file is blacklisted by Wibu, as it interferes with the Wibu license system.

remedy
use a virtual machine for Eplan

old thread but came across it and thought about solving so people could use one VM like me due to space constraints to having numeroase VM's.

steps:
- făcute 2 batch files on desktop: eplan_enable.bat and eplan_disable.bat(rename to whatever you like).
- contents of eplan_enable.bat:
Code:
@ECHO OFF
rename C:\Windows\System32\drivers\multikey_disable.sys multikey.sys
END

- contents of eplan_disable.bat:
Code:
@ECHO OFF
rename C:\Windows\System32\drivers\multikey.sys multikey_disable.sys
END

- runas administrator when you plan to use and stop using eplan.

-to check FT Activation just open when you have disabled eplan and see that CodeMeter refresh starts again.
hope it helps for anyone that comes across this thread and issue in future
