Hi,
I have a 1756-L61 controller, Which was programmed with 13.04 firmware versions and so its program backup was also in 13.04. Recently we faced a communication error between panel view and L61. So, when we try to connect the controller rs logix v20.01, we accindetally upgraded the firmware with v20.Xx. Now the situation is that i have my backup program in v13.xx. and firmware is in 20.xx. Pls advice the best solution

Note:
Firmware v13.xx for L61, i have which is not in msi/DMK file and so it is not getting detected in the control falsh. How to open the same in controlflash/ the way to flash it in the controlller

Maybe you need to downgrade the firmware.. use a version as in picture..v11..v15 (V13 recommended)..you have series B isnt'it.??
avoid flashing controller via serial port, use Ethernet

When you install RSLogix5000 you can choose what versions you wish to "install support for". If you choose to not "install support for" a revision (like rev 13) then when you encounter that revision the software tells you to either upgrade to a revision you have "installed support for" (like v16) or to update the controller's firmware.
The DVDs that are supplied when you initially purchase the software usually contains numeroase versions.
If your controller has no project already in it, (or have a copy) then you can downgrade the firmware version to an earlier version. However, you don't see that as an option because you didn't "install support for" that revision.
You can launch the RSLogix5000 installation and then add those additional versions you wish to "install support for". After which your software will seamlessly switch versions depending upon the project you have opened.
First, back up your program, or print it out.
Launch ControlFLASH, select your processor and firmware versions.
Execute.
Re-enter the program if have not a copy
Download your finished work...

Currently, i upgarded the program to V16 and migrated the program to v16. So far, it is good and system is okay, but the PLC battery backup is failed, because whenever the PLC restarts after, power OFF, program is not there. Waiting for the new battery back-up.

In RS logix installation its giving error as shown above. When a copy the firmware extracted from .RAR file manually to the installation folder and then i ran the installation, still it is not detecting. Do you have any other setup with you or any other suggestion?
