Communication with S7-CPU via DALI Gateway
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109740160/
This application example shows how to configure a communication between a SIMATIC CPU and a DALI network with the help of a gateway.
Note:
Please note that a DALI V2 Multimaster module is also available for ET 200SP.
For more information, see the product release

An application example for the use of this DALI V2 Multimaster module is also available

Gateways enable the communication between two networks that use different communication protocols.DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a network protocol to control lighting devices in facility automation.
The task is to create a communication connection between a SIMATIC CPU and a DALI device via a PROFINET interface using a DALI gateway.
Picture 1
An S7-1200 CPU is used in place of all SIMATIC controllers. The figure below shows the most important components for the communication between an S7-1200 CPU and the “multi PROFINET + DALI” gateway by MBS GmbH.

Commissioning support for ET 200SP CM 1xDALI-Modules
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109771151/
The following example presents two different ways of commissioning a DALI system. The application example serves as a basis and contains the basic functionalities.
A graphical user interface helps enable straightforward commissioning of a DALI system. An HMI or the user-defined website are used to make basic settings to the DALI devices, thus enabling an initial commissioning without TIA Portal.
Two DALI modules and a total of five DALI members were used for this application example. The structure of the system is shown below.
The application example contains the following basic functionalities:
| Code: | On/off switching of DALI ballast units (e.g. lamps)
On/off switching of groups
Scan DALI bus for group members and assign free short addresses
Display assigned short addresses
Change assigned short addresses
Identification of group members
Setting and readout of group assignments of ballast units
Setting and readout of basic parameters of ballast units |
Principle of operation
The function block (FB) "DaliCommissioning" contains all function calls relevant to the application example. The FB reads out the data from the DALI devices and saves the information in the "DaliData" data block (DB). The data in the DB "DaliData" are displayed at the HMI or via the user-defined webpages of the controller. There you can modify the data and then write them back to the DALI devices with the FB "DaliCommissioning". You can also execute individual functions using the HMI or user-defined webpages.
