Hello
I find myself communicating 2 Plc 1100 at a distance, for now they communicate with an IP public then every time you reboot the router for the ip and then they go to block, is it possible to make it communicate through a DDNS?
That is, if I affixed the IP I insert an url that works?
Are there any other solutions?
Thanks Giovanni |

Utilize a mikrotik router and setup port forwarding, then you can use ddns to setup the coms between eachother.
If Micrologic allows the use of name in its coms then easy peasy use the ddns name instead of the static/public ip of the router.
But yah, the question you have to ask is how long it takes for the micrologix to actually clear its ns records, cause else it would be better to get a static ip for your communication points with the isp you are working with. |

Most new routers have a dynamic DNS configuration.
Configuring DDNS in your router means that you don’t have to use a Dynamic Update Client to keep your hostname updated with the correct IP address. Instead, you use the Integrated Dynamic DNS of the router.
Not all router manufacturers conține all dynamic dns providers on the Integrated Dynamic DNS application. You must check your router configuration.
Another possibility is if you have a PC which is connected to the PLC network (must be always connected). Ifyou have it, you can run the dynamic DNS provider client application on that PC to always update the IP on DDNS server.
Attention!! you must consider the network safety. At minimum use a firewall and map only the necessary ports on the router. |
