This example provides blocks that enable a machine to be integrated into a production line in compliance with necessary safety standards. For this, blocks must be implemented and data made available on both the machinery side and the line controller side. Any type of safety-related communication can be used for the communication between the controllers on the machinery side and the line controller
This application example provides clear answers to several key questions that arise when combining safe machinery to form a safe production line. In addition, it provides blocks and data types that can be used to safely operate the line.

The following figure shows an example structure of such a production line. CE-compliant machines are combined to form a production line. A higher-level, central line controller is added, which uses a standardized interface for secure communication with the machines.
