CIP Server – providing process values via CIP with SIMATIC
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109782316/
This application example offers you the possibility to access process data of a SIMATIC S7 controller as CIP server via a function block from any CIP client of a third-party manufacturer.
Often SIMATIC controller exchange data with other controllers, peripheral systems, and upper level control systems or with MES or SCADA systems. To do this in a meaningful manner the communication partners need to use the same protocol. The following application example demonstrates the use of the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) and Programmable Controller Communication Commands (PCCC) as the protocol to perform this data exchange.

This application example provides a communication library for S7-1500/1200 SIMATIC controllers as CIP server to provide process values for any CIP Client. The CIP client here is implemented with WinCC Adv. RT. WinCC offers multiple means of connecting to SIMATIC as well as to third party systems. This application example uses the built in “EtherNet/IP” driver.
The following graphic shows the configuration scenario the function was tested with.

The example explains the use of the “LCCF_CIPServer” function block for SIMATIC S7-1500/1200 controllers to provide process data to any CIP Client.

CIP Client – exchanging process data with third party control systems
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109782317/
This application example offers you the possibility to access process values of a Rockwell Automation Control System as CIP server via a function block in the SIMATIC S7 controller as CIP client.

This application example provides a communication library for S7-1500/1200 SIMATIC controllers to read or write process values as CIP clients to Rockwell Automation controllers (CIP server). No changes inside the Rockwell Automation controller are necessary.
The following graphic shows the configuration scenario the function was tested with.

The example explains the use of the “LCCF_CIPClient” function block for SIMATIC controller to read or write process values inside the Rockwell controller.

The Library has been tested with
