The ET 200SP communication module CAN can be configured for different operating modes. This application example explains the necessary steps. In addition, the communication over SDO (Service Data Objects) is also a part of this example.
Description
The CAN communications module can be configured for three operating modes for the ET 200SP distributed I/O system. The configuration steps are explained in this application example.
The three possible operating modes are:
CANopen Manager
CANopen Slave
CAN transparent
In addition, the CANopen Manager operating mode enables you to read or write to the Object Dictionary (OD) of other CANopen nodes. The SDO (Service Data Objects) communication used for this purpose is also covered in this application example.
