we used 6200 software for interfacing plc5 Allen Bradley. now we use Rslogix 5 and rslinx. but cannot see description of contacts and other comments.
we used to see them in the 6200 software. Can you tell us how to import the descriptions into logic with the rslogix 5.

1. Open backup files (Supposed you save back up files in your hard drive first with all comments)
2. From your Rslogix Tool bar, choose TOOLS->DATABASE->ASCII EXPORT. At documentation data base ASCII EXPORT select *.EAS, *.EIC, *.ERP, *.ESG and Open one by one and choose save and OK.
3. Select your directory for save files (ASCII EXPORT).Untill this step, you finish to Export your files command in ASCII CODE.
4. Close your backup files and go online with your PLC which have loaded the files.
5. From tools bar, choose Tools->Database->ASCII IMPORT.
6. On ASCII IMPORT Directives choose to Import your contained Files *.EAS, *.EIC, *.ERP, *.ESG and File->Save As
It will Upload with all comments...remember..this is done while still on line
