How can you graphically display the contents of the tag archive of a Comfort Panel or the WinCC Runtime Advanced on the PC without WinCC (TIA Portal)?
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/60520367/
Apart from on panels, it is often difficult to read tag archives and they cannot be displayed graphically without WinCC (TIA Portal). Tag values can be archived and evaluated in a CSV file in WinCC Runtime Advanced and with a panel.
The Excel file "WinCC_TIA_ArchiveViewer" provides a VBA Script with graphical user interface and numerous operator input options.
Evaluation using pivot table
Graphical display of values as pivot diagram
Evaluation only of selected files (value_archiv0.csv, for example)
Changing the diagram types
Showing/hiding time buttons
Selection of value display (mean value, maximum value, total, ...)
Time selection (year/month/day/hour/minute)
The VBA Script is compatible with archives created with the WinCC (TIA Portal) Panel or PC Runtime as well as with the WinCC flexible Panel or PC Runtime.
Requirements
The tag archive must be available for processing by the Excel file as CSV file with the "semicolon" as separator between the single elements of the tag (name, value, time of archiving...).
The separator character depends on the separator defined for Windows: "Start > Control Panel > Region and Language > Formats > Advanced Settings > List of Separators".
If your tag archive has a different separator ("comma", for example), then you open the CSV file first with a text editor (like "Notepad", "WordPad" or "Editor") and use the "Replace" function.
Replace the "other separator character" with the "semicolon".

Copying the archive to a PC
For evaluation the tag archive must be located in the same directory as the Excel file with the VBA Script. For this, the "data_transfer" script copies a tag archive from a USB stick over the local network to a PC. The archive recording of the values is meanwhile not interrupted.
The panel must be integrated in a local network. A detailed description is available in Entry ID 13336639.
Change the archive storage locations in the script to suit your onfiguration. You can download the txt file "data_transfer" and integrate it as script in your WinCC flexible or WinCC (TIA Portal) project.

Procedure for evaluating the archive on the PC
1 Tag archive storage location on the PC
Insert the "WinCC_TIA_ArchivViewer_e.xlsm" file together with the archive files (in this example: "value_archiv0.csv") in a folder to start the evaluation.
Fig. 02
2 Start evaluation of the archive data
The first time you start the "WinCC_TIA_ArchivViewer_e.xlsm" file you enable the macros and then click "No" in the query that follows.
Fig. 03
3 Enter archive files
You enter the name of the archive file (in this example: "value_archiv0.csv") in column "B", line two under "File name".
In column "A" under "enable" you enter "1" to enable the archive.
Then click the "Read in archive data and create graphics" button.
Acknowledge the dialog displayed with "Yes".
Now, you can visually evaluate the recorded values without needing any component of WinCC (TIA Portal) or WinCC flexible.

Note
When using very extensive archives (several hundred thousand data records), depending on your computer configuration there might be Excel runtime errors ("runtime error 1004) when executing the script.
In this case you should reduce the size of your archive.
Creation and test environment
The following table lists the components that have been used to făurite this entry and verify the functions described.
