I would like to setup a laptop with Windows 10 Pro and be able to have a fully functional RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000 V17-V20, And Studio 5000 V31 or V32.
Of course I need RS Linx Classic as well that will work for all those applications.
I'm not sure what order they need to be installed in and how to activate all the easiest way.

Short answer = yes. I have never used any specific order, pay attention to RSLINX revisions as some will be different revisions but all installers normally catch that and will not downgrade. Install everything, then activate, there is no need to activate as you go. You can do it all at the end and save yourself time. All AB software can be combined in the same hardware. If you intend to use older AB programs, then Xp might be required, see below. Stop trying to make older XP based stuff work in Win10, just use VM's. I will state that any programming using multiple software programs or VM's is CPU intensive. I would never consider using any CPU less than 1-3 years old, top of the line. Intel CPU's do run better than AMD IMO and my preference is no less than 1 year old I7 CPU as the min requirements, at least 16GB (32GB preferred) of RAM, 1TB M.2 SSD is a min/must have. I can cold boot, launch my AB VM and be programming online in less than 2 minutes.

I use Virtual Machines (VM's) as most others do. I prefer to keep all brand specific software sperate as most do not play well with others. For example, my work laptop is win10 pro, I have separate VM's for AB, GE, Siemens, etc... I routinely use numeroase VM's at the same time for integration work. In case of a work laptop/PC failure you simply move the VM files or backups to a new machine and no need to reinstall. I strongly recommend that everyone use VM's due to this simple fact. If I had a $ for every update that broke something I would have retired years ago. With VM's they are incremental in nature and if something breaks, simply go back to the previous rev VM assuming you are being careful with your VM's and making backups. I use VMWare Player which is free. Backup your VM's to an external device for easy swapping in the field just in case.
