There is a license entry file and a button "insert license" on the protocol tab page of the Ethernet/IP scanner. Without a key, at startup TCIOETHIP: IoOpen failed (Invalid Supplement Key For Ethernet/IP Protocol)! is displayed in the log. Thank you. EthernetIP/Scanner is part of TwinCAT v.2.0. You can add it on the TwinCAT System Manager on I/O configuration: Insert Device then on Ethernet/IP you'll see a Ethernet/IP Scanner When inserted there is a tab "Protocol" where you can enter a license key nr. Without a key, the system manager does not start up. In log there is message etherIP Scanner does not have a valid license. So it is already integrated I think in the base install of TwinCAT v2.0. I sent a question to the Author of the 2.4 medizine, maybe he'll answers. I also see on web there is a later 2.5.1 version which I don't have. Maybe it contains more supplement keys over there. It does not look so simple to do. Only option that can be added is a "Generic EtherNet/IP Slave", then I can append an "IO connection", but can only select "Default (without eds)". This option let you manually enter : config instance & Connection Point (in/out). But at first sight connection state is always :" 0x0001 = 1st Connection disconnected" I'm going to check on a TwinCAT3 system (where EDS import does work) how these settings translate in manual entry. Hello! Could you explain how did you generate these keys? I have tried to found using IDAPRO but without success until now... Anyway if anyone else need to use this key you can change de MAC Addres of the ethernet card and and be happy.
