SIMATIC Ident HF and UHF RFID readers from Siemens can be operated from Beckhoff controllers using the so-called "Ident Profile".
This application example describes the commissioning of a SIMATIC RF600 UHF reader, a SIMATIC RF360R HF reader and a SIMATIC RF188C communication module on a Beckhoff controller via EtherNet/IP or PROFINET with the help of the TwinCAT3 configuration tool.

For the programming interface between the Ident device (e.g. RF615R) and the user program, we supply the Beckhoff "Simatic_Ident" library. The FB_IdentProfile instructions it contains support the following functions:
