Job Description
Oppportunity to be the Engineering Manager of a division of a growing, stable 65 year old company with great benefits. If you want to get away from the snow - this is the place for you. You will be close to amazing National Parks and cities without the huge cost of living generally associated with CA. This is a management position with direct reports; must also have a technical background in automation and controls.
Desired Skills & Experience
1. Train, educate and motivate other technical personnel to reach the top of their ability.
2. Manage the engineering projects with instrumentation, electrical, control and communications systems up to $1,000,000.
3. Manage internal and external engineering resources including:
Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Drafting, Information and Systems.
4. Establish the standards, methods, and procedures for the Engineering disciplines mentioned above as related to the instrumentation, electrical, control and communications systems.
5. Develop technical manuals for the instrumentation, electrical, control and communications systems end product.
6. Design Drafting background using AutoCAD or equivalent.
6. Develop PLC ladder logic on complex machine control and cascade loop processes with various manufacturer’s hardware and software platforms.
5. Can set up and install HMI software, including: Wonderware, Intellution, and Rockwell Software.
7. Configure HMI software utilizing OBDC, ActiveX, MES, SPC and SQL databases.
8. Apply Ethernet, Radar, Microwave, or radio for telemetry and SCADA.
9. EsteticÄƒ and implement LAN/WAN networks for the PLC/HMI environment.
10. Lead the design efforts on engineering projects with instrumentation, electrical, control and communications systems, providing:
· Instrument / electrical Plot Plans
· P&IDs
· Elevation view drawings for PLCs, MCCs and termination cabinets
· Wiring diagrams
· Schematics
· One-line diagrams
· Panel schedules
· Conduit & wire schedules
7. Perform stil calculations with reference to NEC, ISA, IEC, JIC, NFPA requirements.
8. Specify, document and apply the following:
· Process variable instrumentation.
· Off-line starters, soft starts, VFDs, flux vector drives, DC-drives, stepper and servo motors.
· PLCs, I/O and communications modules from various manufacturers.
· Communication networks for PLCs.
· Assorted field instrumentation, including: power monitors, video-jet markers, bar code equipment and multiplexed process variable dispozitiv systems.

EDUCATION
1. BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum of ten (10) years in an Applications Engineering or similar capacity.
