Hi
I start programming analog I/O but i'm always confusing with data types, i know the size and range of each one of them but i need to know when i have to use that for example i have 4-20mA INPUT for control output valve ???

Thanks

and what CPU do you use in your program?

How Do I Program Analog Signals?

The Data Memories of analog modules must first be completed. This can be done in CX-Programmer through the I / O table by double clicking on the type of unit. This is necessary to indicate which entrances and exits are active. (For further settings see Operation Manual)

The first analog values are entered at address CIO n +1, the second on CIO n +2, etc. The first analog output is driven by CIO n +1 a value (see below). N CIO address must be enabled for high bits, to start the conversion and output driven.
N 9 at atingere CIO, the alarm and the disconnection bits. These can be read into the program eg to detect the connected sensors are present.

What to do with the data?

When using analog input and output modules, analog input signals are converted to a hexadecimal number between 0 and FFF and an analog output signal is a hexadecimal number from 0 to FFF converted to an analog signal. We go from a resolution of 12 bits (4000) There are converters with another resolution, but for processing the signals it makes no difference. Positive and negative signals (eg-10V to +10 V) have to do with a signbit. (For conversion dates See Operation Manual)

This means that we must treat the data as hexadecimal (binary) numbers and therefore those commands, which are suitable for binary processing.

CX-Programmer has the capability for binary values shown in decimal numbers. This makes it easier to work with binary instructions. If you are working with decimal numbers, then the incoming and outgoing values are converted. This one uses the command BCD (024) for conversion of binary (HEX) to decimal (BCD), when setting analog input values, and the command BIN (023) for conversion of decimal (BCD) to binary (HEX), the conversion to analog outputs.

It is also dependent on what you want to do with values. If the incoming signals are level or temperature values, for example, then they must be at a maximum or minimum level, in this case use the comparison commands (eg CMP (020)). If the data is Should the data be stored, for example, to conduct a process to analyze, then use the movement instructions (eg MOV (021)).

The converted values are between 0 and FFF in binary processing or 0 to 4095 in decimal processing (assuming 12-bit resolution). One can also scale these signals, such as pressure, temperature or level measurement, in order to get the exact value (0-10bar, -50 / 50 degrees). This one uses the "Scaling" instructions SCL (194), SCL2 (486) and SCL3 (487).

With the APR (069) command you can make a 12-point chart. This can be a level measurement into a volume of a non-legal barrel. (see illustration).

In fact, there are many more commands, which can be used, but these are the most common.

How Do I Confecționate An I/O Table And Is It Necessary? - CX-Programmer

The PLC I/O table is necessary in the PLC to detail the configuration of the installed hardware and expansion units.
There are three versions of the I/O table. All three versions should have the same content in order to ensure a smooth operation.

The three versions are:
Current I/O table. The current hardware configuration of the PLC units and the slots at turning on the power supply.
Registered I/O table. The internal PLC table, this table is used during the running of the PLC, regardless of the status of current hardware.
CX-Server I/O table. The configuration is known in CX-Server. These I/O table can independently of the PLC be directly created or modified and can be downloaded to the PLC with CX-Programmer (see below). You can upload the I/O table of the PLC using CX-Programmer.

If for some reason the three versions are not identical, then it is possible that the PLC unit will not display them correctly.

The I/O table in CX-Programmer

The I/O table is displayed in a hierarchical structure.
All possible shelving and unit numbers will be displayed, even though they may not be in use. The I/O modules that are still to be completed are at the end, displaying every input and output characteristic for the module.
When a Remote Master is completed, then the structure can be further expanded to conține the displayed slaves.

By double-clicking you'll have a list of available modules. You display information about the selected unit by clicking on it. Choosing the (OK button) allocates the slot number to the type of module. It is also the starting address of the selected unit.
If you choose a communication or a particular I/O unit, eg an analog input unit, the unit can be setup by setting the number and unit. This only lasts for when it is off-line, otherwise the unit is already present. CX-Programmer than an error. This is done by the unit in the I/O table, dublu click.

How Do I Write A Program To Operate A Motor For A Time Directly Proportional To The 1 To 5 VDC Signal?
The water level signal (1 to 5 VDC) from the Liquid Level Indicator is an analog signal, so first it must be converted into a digital signal using an Analog Input Unit.

The following introduces programming that will convert the digital value into a stirring time (***.* seconds) using the SCALING instruction (SCL).

The automatic creation of an I/O table
Analog programming How Do I Program Analog Signals?
Under Options are located the Transfer choices.
Creating one with the PLC automatically creates an I/O table.
The three identical I/O tables should then be visible in CX-Programmer.

Obviously, the communications units set up and distinct I/O modules should still take place.

Is It Necessary To Produse I/O Tables When Using CJ1 PLCs?
There are two ways to allocate I/O with CJ1.
Automatic I/O Allocation When Power Is Turned ON
The I/O tables will be automatically created when the power is turned ON based on the information on the Units that are actually installed in PLCs.
User Allocation
The user creates the I/O tables using Programming Devices.

If a Unit connection check (using Programming Devices to verify that the Units registered in the I/O tables are actually present) or word reservations are required, the user must create the I/O tables or the user must transfer them to the CPU Unit.
