Dear All,.
I has some problem with connect ABB ACS 850-04-240 Driver with compressor controller using RS485 communication. I use terminal XD2D on board for connect with controller. and the VFD ABB will running with data transfer from controller.
Could you please send me the diagram and setting on ABB ACS850 VFD ?or guide me to fix this problem.

You have to decide the way you want to control
1. With embedded interface
2. External Adapter

1. With embedded interface
If XD2D is the connection point for a drive-to-drive link, a daisy-chained RS-485 transmission line with one master and numeroase slaves.
Note: If the XD2D connector is used for the embedded fieldbus interface (parameter 58.01 Protocol ena sel is set to Modbus RTU), the drive-to-drive link operation (parameter group 57) is automatically disabled.

From now on read at page 330 Setting up the embedded fieldbus interface
The new settings will take effect when the drive is powered up the next time, or when parameter 58.10 Refresh settings is activated.
At page 332 put Setting the drive control parameters accordingly.

Use a communication profile according these rules.

2. External Adapter
The drive can be connected to an external control system through a serial
communication link using either an embedded fieldbus interface (as explained above) or a fieldbus adapter.
The fieldbus adapter module is installed into drive Slot 3.

As you see you have to choose what adapter you need most appropriate to PLC you are used for control.
PROFIBUS DP (FPBA-xx adapter)
CANopen (FCAN-xx adapter)
DeviceNet (FDNA-xx adapter)
LONWORKS® (FLON-xx adapter).

Before configuring the drive for fieldbus control, the adapter module must be mechanically and electrically installed according to the instructions given in the User’s Manual of the appropriate fieldbus adapter module
The communication between the drive and the fieldbus adapter module is activated by setting parameter 50.01 Fba enable to Enable. The adapter-specific parameters must also be set. See the table at pag.357.

So you must follow step by step the instructions from manuals.

thanks you for your info,
our device is controller of Atlascopco compressor comnunication with VFD Micromaster 440- it fault and i replacement by new ABB ACS 850-04-260 dreiver,
it communication with old driver via com 2 ( RS485), so we can connect it with ABB drive ove RS485 ?
Pls help me solve this issue.

I'm talking with guys from Atlascopco but the problem is a little difficult.
They have only two electrical engineers in country but talking with one of them he told me they only replace blocks just in case (ready to mount blocks including controller). They have the Service Manual for the entire product not Manual for controller. I ask him to search this manual but probably will take some time.
So I am very sorry about that but just now I have not another option.

Let me know if you know exactly that Micromaster is defective or you cannot communicate with it due to a wrong setting?
If you cannot communicate then try to check eventually the parameter set for MM440? Can you check this:
P700=2
P1000=5
P0731=52.3
P0719.1=11
Did you check that you have put the termination resistance at the end of the line only.
If MM440 it is completely defective then translation of the USS protocol can be done only with a gateway...I do not see other solution.

I have a troubles in my atlas copco compresor, i replace MM440 i made a full back up but now electronikon shows "Conv.FormatFail 52". This is an configuration problem, could you send me a back up from yours compresors?
