Hi!
Happy New Year!
This is my first post. I need help to know following:
I hv AB 1400 model BXB - having serial port (CH2) - 9 pin set for 9600, 8, n, 1 std setting. I hv EPSON TM U220 POS printer having serial connectivity. I want to use ESC / POS commands ( recd from EPSON) to print my test data generated at PLC. I tried to use the ASCII commands by sending string ( AWA instruction), but found that printer consider all commands as text & just prints the commands along with text.
Can anyone tell me – or give sample rung to write the program.

Good morning!
I hv all what u informed. I got EPOSN ESC/ Pos commands updated list as well. But issue is - when I send string in ASCII - e.g ESC J ( a command for Feed & print) - printer just print the same command & no action. I came to know that I need to convert the commands in Hex(?)
But still unable to know how exactly the string to be written.

Well,
AB Knowledge Base gave what ASCII instructions are supported in the MicroLogix controllers:
| Code: | ACL - Ascii clear buffer
AIC - Integer to string
AWA - Ascii write with append
AWT - Ascii write
ABL - Test buffer for line
ACB - Number of characters in the buffer
ACI - Convert a string to an integer value
ACN - String Concatenate (link two strings into one)
AEX - String Extract
AHL - Ascii handshake lines
ARD - Ascii read characters
ASC - Search a string
ASR - Compare two strings |
For TM U220 all the drivers on EPSON site are for communication between OS and printer:

I suggest you to download EPSON OPOS ADK and the printer to be connected to the computer serial instead directly to AB400 serial and use drivers given by EPSON.
