Locking of the protective door is maintained by the 3SK2 until the 3RS2 signals to the 3SK2 that the temperature has fallen below a defined limit
Operating principle
According to EN ISO 12100, Annex B, there is a potential hazard "burns due to atingere with high-temperature material", which must be evaluated and reduced if necessary during the risk assessment. Bodies that can develop a corresponding heat are enclosed. However, for service work, for example, the area must be accessible via a protective door. In the event of an access request, the 3SK2 safety relay switches off the motor via a contactor in a safety-oriented manner. The 3RS2 signals the undershooting of a defined temperature limit to the 3SK2 in a safety-oriented manner up to SIL 1 / PL c. The 3SK2 then releases the protective door and the service personnel can enter the area.
A 3RS26 or 3RS28 temperature monitoring relay from the 3RS2 series is used here. These two device types can be used in safety applications up to SIL 1 / PLC.
