1771-DMC: Upload & Download Using Hyper Terminal and Kermit
Question
How do I download a file to 1771-DMC using Hyper Terminal and Kermit?
Answer
To download a file from a PC to the 1771-DMC using HyperTerminal
| Code: | Connect a 1747-CP3 or a 1756-CP3 cable and connect to Comm 0 of the 1771-DMC
Start HyperTerminal
Setup the serial port in HyperTerminal of the PC for the following
9600 baud
8 bits
no parity
X-On X-Off
VT100 Emulation
ASCII setup - Echo typed letters locally (Add some line delays and character delays)
This is the default for the 1771-DMC; if your DMC is running the serial comms may be different.
Hit enter a few times to see $ in the DMC module
This is the OS-9 prompt
This means you are connected and communicating with the DMC module
If you don't see the $ then the DMC may need to be reset.
In the DMC type Kermit r
In HyperTerminal select Transfer - -> Send file
Protocol is Kermit Filename - -> Browse to file
Select Send
When the file send is complete the $ will appear
The above works for text type files. Since Basic is not compiled it is able to be downloaded.
C and Assembler are compiled files.

Hello,
Does anyone have images of the original 1771-PCB disks?
The ~180kbyte file that is getting around seems to be missing the 68k cross compiler and the A-B libraries etc.
Thanks! |
