|
|
HI
I have a problem. Please help me. Nowhere I read about series selection of AB products. for example I have a ML1400 SER A and I have got a 1762-IF4 SER B module. But the module not work and when I connect the white ribbon to bus connector, the IF4 LED is off and it is not recognized in I/O configuration in rslogix 500. (0187h error)
(I use 1761-CBL-PM02 cables and modbus RTU slave for channel 0 and no handshaking (485 network) setting).
please help me:
1- It is possible to use 1762-IF4 SER B with ML1400 SER A? (If it is possible how I can configure that?)
2- why my module LED is off?
3- How much important is grounding and how must i do that? |

I had a similar problem with Micrologix 1500.

The affected products are MicroLogix 1500 base units 1764-24AWA, 1764-24BWA, 1764-28BXB, and 1764-28BXB1 manufactured between March 1, 2011, and July 19, 2012. All products manufactured after July 19, 2012, are not affected by this anomaly. Affected product will show an error code of 0022h, xx71h, and / or xx87h when read with RSLogix 500 programming software. Product not showing this error code is not affected by this anomaly.
The error code may be read using RSLogix 500 software. In the controller status dialog, the error code can be found in the Major Error S:6 field.
On some product, the date code appears as part of the product serial number, as shown in the image to the left. The date code is in the format of WWYY, where WW is the week of the year and YY is the last two digits of the year. Affected date codes are 0911 through 2912. In the example to the left, the date code of 3410 indicates the 30th week of 2012, or the week of July 23, 2010. Date code 3410 is shown as an example only and is not part of the affected date range. [Reference the attached PDF documents for images.]
On some product, the manufacturing date is shown on both the product nameplate in the format of YYYY/MM/DD, where YYYY is the year, MM is the month code, and DD is the day of the month. For example, a manufacturing date of 2012/06/08 is June 8, 2012. In the examples to the left, the location of the manufacturing date on the nameplate for these products may be in one of two locations, either under the Atingere Ratings table, or under the Plant location code. [Reference the attached PDF documents for images.]\
On the product carton label, as shown in the image to the left, the date code may be found under the Plant location code, as shown in the following image. Rockwell Automation will accept for warranty replacement all new and unused identified product with the factory seal intact produced within the affected manufacturing date range. [Reference the attached PDF documents for images.]
DESCRIPTION:
A potential anomaly exists with the MicroLogix 1500 base units when used with 1769 expansion I/O. In a small number of cases, MicroLogix 1500 base units operating at higher temperatures may experience one of the following fault codes: 0022h, xx71h, or xx87h. The MicroLogix 1500 will go into a safe state fault mode with all outputs off. The fault code can be read through RSLogix 500 programming software.
TEMPORARY WORKAROUNDS:
No workaround has been identified. Customers must follow the instructions in the Correction section of this document.
CORRECTION:
Important: All new and unused product with the factory seal intact will be accepted for warranty replacement. Used and opened product will be considered for warranty replacement only if demonstrating one of the listed error codes.
Affected product as described in the Product Identification section of this document must be replaced. Return affected product to Rockwell Automation through your distributor for warranty replacement. You may be asked to provide a new purchase order for replacement product. Reference this Product Notice number when requesting replacement product. Requests for warranty replacement of affected product will be accepted through February 2014 or 18 months following the initial release of this Product Notice document.
REQUESTED CUSTOMER ACTION:
Rockwell Automation requests you take the following actions:
Check if you have a product affected by this Product Notice. Refer to the Product Identification and Description sections of this document for product identification assistance.
Product may be returned to your local Rockwell Automation distributor using standard warranty return procedures. New and unused product must be returned with the factory seal intact. Reference this Product Notice when returning your product. You may be asked to provide a separate purchase order to obtain replacement product.
All returns should be over packed to prevent shipping damage during transit.
If applicable, contact your distributor or local sales office to return the product and request a replacement unit.
If you need additional assistance, please contact Rockwell Automation Technical Support. See Appendix A for local telephone numbers. Customers without TechConnect contracts should reference this Product Notice when calling.
Customers with TechConnect contracts can chat online with English speaking representatives. Reference this Product Notice when connected to a support engineer.
Product Notice 2012-08-001 Revision A - MicroLogix 1500 Base Units When Used with 1769 Expansion I/O (201208001)
https://rockwellautomation.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/490954/page/1
From Knowledge Base Rockwell tell something about xx87h error:
Certain MicroLogix 1500 systems that include 1769 expansion I/O modules have been reported to undergo a system fault that
may have one or more of the following fault codes:
0022h
xx71h
xx87h
Affected Catalog Numbers:
1764-24AWA
1764-24BWA
1764-28BXB
1764-28BXB1
Affected manufacturing date codes:
March 2011 (0911) until July 19, 2012
Cause
This anomaly has been identified to be a batch-related issue affecting MicroLogix 1500 base units manufactured within the date code range March 2011 (0911) until July 19, 2012.
Solution
If you encounter any of these errors (0022H, xx71H or xx87H), please do the following:
Check system connections.
Check for a noise problem. Make sure that proper grounding practices are used.
Cycle power.
If errors persist after you have performed the above actions, and your units are manufactured within the affected date codes, refer to Next Steps below.
You can look for the MicroLogix 1500 Base Unit manufacturing date code on Product ID label, as shown in the examples below.
From this long theory from Rockwell the conclusion is to change Micrologix 1400.
If you are not in this situation then:
From Manual:
rslogix 500 0187h error
Running the program as an administrator is a must
In the drop down menu, click Goto Error. This will open the status file and give you a description of the fault and what may be causing it.
xx86
Correct the problem and click the "Clear Fault" option from the same drop down menu.
This will put the processor in Remote Program mode. With it the source of the fault fixed, you can put it back into Run mode.
An expansion I/O module could not communicate at the baud rate specified in the user program I/O configuration.
(The xx indicates the module number; if this is 00 the problem cannot be traced to a specific module.)
Change the baud rate in the user program I/O configuration, and Recompile, reload the program and enter the
Run mode, or Replace the module. Cycle power.
xx87
(The xx indicates the module number; if this is 00 the problem cannot be traced to a specific module.)
The expansion I/O configuration in the user program did not match the actual configuration, or:
The expansion I/O configuration in the user program specified a module, but one was not found, or:
The expansion I/O module configuration data size for a module was greater than what the module is capable of holding.
The problem with noise or other considerations has not stand up.
What to do if you cannot solve the problem??
Draw your own conclusions... |

For MicroLogix 1400 Series A:
RSLogix 500 version 8.1 or later
RSLinx Classic version 2.54
For MicroLogix 1400 Series B:
RSLogix 500 version 8.3 or later

Thank you very much. In the manual file (page14), module com is not connected. But insteat of that, power supply com is connectet to IN-. it is true or module com also must be connectet to power supply com ??
You can see that in micrologix 1762 IF4 analog input module manual in pages number 12, 13, 14. Two com screws on the module are not connectet !! |

For Micrologix 1400 SER A, All expansion I/O modules must be in SER A.
Expansion I/O Modules in series B don't work with PLC series A! |
